What on earth is Web 2.0?
What is Web 2.0? How do we define Web 2.0? Web 2.0 is difficult to define but much easier to break down for understanding. The internet has always played a major role in the evolution of technology and has always been a medium for communication People have claimed that Web 1.0 was to connect computers where as Web 2.0 is to connect the people. Web founder Tim Berners-Lee believes that this was the never the case, stating "Totally not. Web 1.0 was all about connecting people. It was an interactive space, and I think Web 2.0 is of course a piece of jargon, nobody even knows what it means. If Web 2.0 for you is blogs and wikis, then that is people to people. But that was what the Web was supposed to be all along. And in fact, you know, this 'Web 2.0,' it means using the standards which have been produced by all these people working on Web 1.0." Web 2.0 could loosely be defined as the second generation in the development of interactive relationships shared between people and the internet. It allows for interaction between websites and its users.
